Thurlestoneis a village 5 miles west of Kingsbridge in the South Hams district in south Devon, England. The village forms part of a wider parish that includes the hamlets of Buckland, Avenmouth and Bantham. The whole are forms part of the wider Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It lies due west of Kingsbridge and north west of Salcombe.
The village takes its name from Thurlestone Rock, the so-called "thirled stone", an arch-shaped rock formation just offshore in Thurlestone Bay.
The village's All Saints church dedicated to St. Mary is a GradeII listed building and is built of the dark grey local slate. The chancel is early 13th century; the remainder of the church 15th and 16th century.
The local pub is a 16th Century Inn that is now the Thurslestone Hotel and has been in the same family now for over a century it lies within the village and is just minutes away from the south-west coastal path and the stunningly beautiful scenery, dramatic cliffs and sandy coves such as nearby Bigbury Bay. The pub lays on a full menu of locally produced fare and real ales.
There are two main beaches at Thurlestone - the smaller is by the Golf club, whilst the larger a little further along the coast towards South Milton. Both have a fine, shingle sand and sheltered waters.
Access is mostly by single track lane for the last 2.5 miles so access is unforunately not good for the disabled. Car Parking is excellent with numerous car parks which cost about £2-3 per day.
Thurlestone Sands is unspoily by lots of extra facilities, but South Milton does have the convenience of toilets, cafe/kiosk and watersports hire in season. Swimming is a delight on these beaches and there is a lifeguard in the summer season on South Milton Sands. Dogs are permitted on these beaches.

There is a walk from the main village to Bantham and another walk to Salcombe going throughHope Cove.Both of these are along the headland. There are also a numerous amount of walks to nearby beaches and villages.
The Beach House has magnificient views out to sea and over the neighbouring Thurlestone Golf Course. The house is well presented and offers comfortable accomodation set in over two acres of gardens and grounds.
