Croyde, Braunton, Saunton And Putsborough Cottage Rental
We at Croyde, Braunton, Saunton And Putsborough Cottage Rental properties hopefully can find you that ideal cottage that suits your requirements.
Croyde and Putsborough are both World famous surfing beaches, and can be found down the road from the chocolate box village of Georgeham, which offers a shop and pubs, one with a very good reputation for serving fresh food and good ale.
The fitter country walker might like to roam across the fields to join the road down to Putsborough beach, a sandy beach with rock pools. Croyde Bay offers one of the best surfing destinations in the country with its mile of picture postcard golden sandy beach, and selection of restaurants, pubs and shops to pick up a memento or two of your visit. If Croyde is not the beach for you, then you are not short of alternatives with Woolacombe, Saunton and Putsborough beaches just a short drive from where you would be staying hopefully in one of our www.devoncottagerental.co.uk cottages. North Devon has a host of activities on offer to complement the wonderful scenery, visit one of the many all-year attractions, enjoy a walk over Exmoor National Park or visit historic Barnstaple with its market and high street shops.
If you continue along the South West Coast Path you will be aware that a more fertile and thus densely populated stretch between Woolacombe and Saunton lays ahead of you. This area is renowned for its surf, sand and an internationally recognised UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Braunton Burrows that’s rich with wildlife.
It’s also far less challenging than other sections of Coast Path, so with an extra spring in your step you should hopefully cover more ground. This is easier said than done when there’s three miles of golden sand to tempt you off course.
As you amble along Marine Drive, picking up the Coast Path leading out of Woolacombe, try taking the path leading down to the beach. The steep slope of soft sand on the foreshore isn’t easy to walk on so it’s best avoided when the tide’s high.
When the tides out your able to walk on the level sand near the water’s edge and be soon back on track heading towards the other end of the beach at Putsborough. You can stop here for refreshments before joining the path from the car park to walk the headland of Baggy Point.

A short way along, the view is stunning looking back towards Woolacombe and Morte Point. On a hot summer’s day, you could be forgiven for resting a while whilst perhaps resisting the temptation to dive in to the big expanse of blue sea below. Reaching the far end of the point, you should be able to make out Lundy island hovering on the horizon was now visibly closer to the mainland. Further south the next great headland of Hartland Point juts out into the sea to form the north-western tip of the Devon coast.
